Yemen: Emergency Response Training
EPOS technical assistance teams have been providing training on emergency response, first aid, critical life support and mass casualty trauma in Yemen to respond to the impact the crisis is having health service capacity.
Participants of the emergency response trainings are medical staff of governorate-managed hospitals. Training focuses on urgently responding and managing war-related injuries, as victims require immediate medical care en masse.
Over the past 12 months of internal instability in Yemen, our European Union-funded Stewardship Technical Assistance Programme has continued supporting the curative sector of the MoPHP. This recent training series is one example of how technical assistance support is being effectively re-directed to strengthen resilience of the Yemeni health system, despite the disruption caused by the conflict.
