EPOS Postgrad Scholarship Diploma Recently was awarded
Célestin Karamira, recipient of the 2010 EPOS Postgraduate Public Health Scholarship, completed his Masters Programme in International Health within the Erasmus Mundus Programme. Célestin, a Rwanda national, undertook core and advanced courses jointly at Université Bordeaux, Segalen, France and the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Charité Universitatsmedizin, Berlin, Germany, and presented his thesis at Kononkliijk Institute voor de Tropen, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In addition to his studies, this past Spring Célestin travelled to the EPOS implemented MCC-finded Non-Communicable Diseases and Injury (NCDI) project in Mongolia to carry out a road safety research study as part of his Master’s thesis.
The EPOS Postgraduate Public Health Scholarship was established in early 2010 to coincide with EPOS Health Management’s 25th Corporate anniversary. The scholarship highlights EPOS’ commitment to development cooperation that aims to contribute to the long term capacity building and sustainability of public health systems in developing countries.
The scholarship provided support for a young professional from a developing country with at least 4 years certified work experience in public and/or private health services to undertake a Master degree programme in Public Health in Europe.
