During the last few years, the Central Asian Countries have started implementing the DOTS Strategy in accordance with the recommendations of the WHO in order to bring the TB problem under control. Alternating conferences are planned as a platform for the Central Asian Countries to support the successful trans-boundary regional co-operation and coordination in order to tackle one of the main common health issues in this region: How to fight TB efficiently regarding treatment outcome and costs. One of the aims of this conference is to exchange experiences and lessons learnt during implementation of the DOTS Strategy and DOTS Plus Strategy so far.
