Liberia: EPOS committed for the reduction of maternal mortality after Ebola

Since January 2015 EPOS is supporting the Ministry of Health in Liberia managing a 1.6M project of the EU to support the implementation of the national health plan and the roadmap for the reduction of maternal mortality. Despite huge administrative and technical challenges, and in the context of a severely damaged health system, EPOS remains committed to its mandate. We have deployed a team of two international long term experts supported by five national staff and frequent backstopping from HQ. So far the project has contributed to the new assessment of the nation health sector, participating in the development of the now validated Post Ebola National Investment Plan. The team liaised with numerous partners and assisted the Department of Planning of the MoH in its activities. The team also prepared for the upcoming and very challenging implementation phase where it will go develop capacities of Counties Health Teams in the most remote Health administrations of the South East corridor. This is also EPOS first EU Global Price contract.
